LAUNE x Amare Pilates
Amare Pilates is a Tribeca-based studio founded with a focus on intention, precision, and a more personal approach to movement. Built from years of one-on-one training, it offers a refined middle ground between private sessions and group classes, where form, attention, and community are equally prioritized. Rooted in a contemporary practice with classical foundations, the experience is calm, considered, and deeply individual. At its core, Amare Pilates is about moving with purpose and creating space to feel balanced, strong, and connected. Below, the founder shares more on the vision behind Amare Pilates and what’s ahead.
1. Tell me about yourself and Amare Pilates.
I’m a Pilates instructor based in Tribeca and the founder of Amare Pilates. I started Amare five years ago, initially working one-on-one with clients and building a really loyal, word-of-mouth community. Over time, I saw a gap between traditional group fitness and true private training, so Amare is built around that middle ground. It is an elevated and intimate approach where you still get hands on attention within a small group setting, while fostering community.
2. Tell me about the journey to opening a studio in Tribeca.
It’s been a mix of instinct and patience. I didn’t want to rush into opening a studio just to have one. Then my gut told me it was time. The process has definitely been a learning curve, but I’ve stayed focused on creating a space that feels calm, elevated, and personal.
3. What is your LAUNE (mood)?
Grounded, balanced, and a little indulgent. I think balance is the key to everything.
4. What inspires you?
I’m really inspired by people and their energy, especially in New York. You meet all kinds of people building something, and that has always motivated me. I’ve felt that way since I moved here at 17. I also draw a lot from spaces, hotels, apartments, restaurants and I use Pinterest daily. Mood boarding is my creative outlet. And my clients constantly inspire me! They’re driven, intentional, and a huge part of the community I’ve built, which pushes me to keep refining what I offer.
5. What is the ethos of Amare Pilates? What Pilates method do you practice?
The ethos is intentional movement in a refined and intimate setting. I practice a contemporary approach to Pilates while incorporating classical principles, with a strong focus on form, alignment, and control. It’s less about rushing and more about how each movement feels. I’m focused on creating a “private training” experience, even in a group, while still maintaining a sense of connection and community.
6. Walk me through your perfect day in New York.
My perfect day starts at Rigor Hill Market. It’s my home away from home. If the weather’s nice, I’ll walk through Tribeca or along the West Side Highway with a friend. Lately I’ve been loving a matcha from Interlude. I’ll teach a few sessions spaced throughout the day, grab something simple for lunch, and reset in the afternoon with a workout. Then dinner and drinks with friends either somewhere in the neighborhood or downtown.
7. What do you love about New York?
The energy and the fact that there’s always something going on. I am a huge extrovert, and I feed off the energy of the people around me. It’s incredibly inspiring, but it can be overwhelming at times, so I think it’s about finding balance and reminding yourself to slow down and enjoy it. I also love the sense of community you can build here, even in such a fast-paced environment.
8. How do you approach movement and wellness in your own daily routine?
I approach it intuitively. Some days I want a structured workout, and other days I just want to walk. I make sure to move my body every day in some way. Living in New York, movement is naturally integrated into your lifestyle, which I love. For me, wellness is about consistency and feeling good, not being overly rigid.
9. What’s next for you and Amare Pilates?
Right now, the focus is on opening the Tribeca studio and refining that experience. Longer term, I see Amare expanding in a very intentional way and growing slowly while maintaining the quality, experience, and sense of community that makes it special.
