Spencer Solit is a born-and-raised New Yorker with a love for food, travel, fashion, and discovering the best of what a city has to offer. From sharing favorite finds to building PJ’s Daughter, her small-batch ice cream brand, she has a knack for the best. Below, she shares more on what inspires her, life in New York, and what’s next.
1. Tell me about yourself.
Hi! My name is Spencer Solit. I’m born and raised in New York City and currently live in Greenwich Village with my fiancé (and we’re getting married in three weeks!). You may have seen me on TikTok sharing my addiction to shopping, eating, and traveling, or talking about my small batch ice cream brand PJ’s Daughter. I work full time in hospitality running marketing for a restaurant group but am also a freelance travel advisor by night!
2. What is your LAUNE (mood)?
Right now, it’s mostly chaos! Between the last minute wedding planning and managing ice cream orders and travel clients, life has been a little crazy! It’s all good things, but I’m excited for some well deserved R&R and of course lots of love on my honeymoon.
3. What inspires you?
Growing up in NYC and growing up in a family that prioritized travel exposed me to such an incredibly diverse creative community. Whether it be food, art, travel, or even the menus at a restaurant or design of a hotel, I’m constantly capturing my surroundings for creative inspiration. The inspiration behind my Instagram account (@spencerjsolit) was to share my latest findings of what I’m loving across all categories (food, fashion, art, hotels ) and the evolution of my personal creative journey all in one place.
4. What are three staple items that every closet should have and why?
Jeans (medium wash), a reliable white tee, and ballet flats. You’ll always look put together, you can dress it up or down, and it will never go out of style.
5. What drives your creative process and content?
I’ve always been a doer and I struggle to sit still. I’ve always had the mindset that if something looks fun or interesting and I’m drawn to it, then I should do it! That is the driving force behind how I’ve found myself with many different jobs and hobbies and I love posting my experiences to share that curiosity and excitement.
6. You are also the founder of PJ’s Daughter, a small batch ice cream brand. What inspired you to start it, and how did the idea first come to life?
I’m obsessed with ice cream and I grew up in a home of ice cream addicts. I can’t ever sit still and decided that I should try to make ice cream myself. It ended up tasting pretty amazing and my friends and family wouldn’t stop asking for more. Since then, I’ve turned it into a small business selling pints in NYC and the Hamptons in the summer. 7. What do you love about New York?
What’s not to love! This city has everything. It’s exploding with creativity, action, food, art, fashion, and culture in general. Each neighborhood has its own unique community and local culture, which I love exploring. Bonus points for being able to walk everywhere (cough cough LA). You can never run out of things to do!
8. Which New York neighborhood has the best style?
Upper East Side!
9. What’s next for you?
I’m getting married in Italy in a few weeks, so that has been the recent focus. Moving forward, I’m excited to expand my travel advisory business and ice cream brand in addition to my day job. And of course, I’m excited to keep sharing my latest fashion finds on TikTok.

I can’t pick one! Il Cantinori,Sushi Seki, or Hillstone (I know, lame but it’s the best!)

My Mom <3. I have to say that because half my closet is from her.
12. Favorite movie?
The Parent Trap.
13. What are you loving right now?
I've been obsessed with hotel branding. Headed to Il Pelicano and Casa Monti this summer, both of which have excellent branding that I love.
