Meet Mary Faith Reynolds, the founder behind Skin by MFR, a skincare practice rooted in care, connection, and intention. Based in New York, Mary Faith blends her love of beauty, wellness, and human connection into bespoke treatments that go beyond the surface. Skin by MFR is as much about how you feel as how your skin looks — calming the nervous system, building trust in thoughtful formulas, and creating space for real, restorative moments. Below, Mary Faith shares the philosophy behind her approach, the rituals that ground her, and what’s next as she continues to grow her practice.
1. Tell me about yourself and Skin by MFR. How was it created? Where does the name come from?
Skin by MFR was created because I truly love taking care of people. I am obsessed with beauty, fashion, and wellness, and when you combine that with skincare and my love for connecting with others, Skin by MFR was born. The name comes from my full name, Mary Faith Reynolds. It felt personal and intentional, which mirrors the experience I want my clients to have.
2. What is your skincare approach rooted in?
My skincare approach is rooted in holistic yet effective ingredients. I need to fully trust the formulas and the brands behind them, not only for my own skin but for my clients’ skin as well. My treatments are designed to support the skin while calming the nervous system.
3. What is the LAUNE (mood) of Skin by MFR?
The LAUNE of Skin by MFR is all about taking care. It centers on caring for yourself and for others. When you feel good, you do good. The goal is to feel calmer, more regulated, and more at home in your soul and skin.
4. What inspires you?
Living in NYC inspires me every day, especially being surrounded by creatives in the Aesthetics space. My clients, however, inspire me the most. I feel incredibly fortunate that people feel safe with me and open up when they are comfortable. My approach to skin blends elements of therapy, skincare, and visible glow. The in between moments are what I love most. We all carry stories of strength, love, and hurt, and those shared human moments are everything.
5. What’s your skincare routine? What’s your beauty routine?
My routine changes seasonally, but right now these are my favorites. Woro Sunscreen is a mineral sunscreen that gives the skin a beautiful glow. Dr. Loretta’s Gentle Cleanser is packed with peptides and keeps the skin balanced. The French Farmacie Élixir Exfoliant is a total non negotiable in my routine. LXMI Pure Nilotica Melt provides deep barrier nourishment. Sweet Chemistry’s Elasticity Reinforcing Hydra Cream and Barrier Repairing Hydra Serum are absolute staples for me right now.
6. What’s next for you?
I am excited to continue growing my business! I offer luxury, concierge, bespoke facials and look forward to meeting new people through my clients while continuing to expand my brand.
